*Experience: 8+ years *
*Title: Apache Spark Developer*
We are seeking Senior technologist, preferably with experience in *Apache
Spark, Kafka *but overall a strong hands-on experience in *developing
backend services and server side components in Java.*
Candidate is also expected to have strong understanding of *design/architecture
fundamentals and patterns, OOPS, *exceptions handling, coding standards,
unit testing. Being part of technology team also means that minimum dev
standards are expected including proper testing, code reviews, concept of
segregated dev/uat/prod environments.
Job required strong math and analytical concepts. You must be open and keen
to learn new technologies
*Key Responsibilities:*
Work with overall analytics team and quant desk to write analytics code,
services and components in *Java, Apache Spark, Kafka, Storm, Redis *and
related technologies such as Hadoop, Zookeeper
Responsible for systems analysis, Design, Coding, Unit Testing and other
SDLC activities
• Requirement gathering and understanding, Analyze and convert functional
requirements into concrete technical tasks and able to provide reasonable
effort estimates
• Directly impacts the business by ensuring the quality of work provided by
self and others; works closely with other teams as partner
• Work proactively, independently and with global teams to address project
requirements, and articulate issues/challenges with enough lead time to
address project delivery risks
• Providing expertise in technical analysis and solving technical issues
during project delivery
• Code reviews, test case reviews and ensure code developed meets the
requirements
*Must Have Experience:*
• *Java *essential. Python, and R highly desired.
• *Apache Spark streaming and batch framework*
• *Kafka, Storm, Zookeeper*
*• Redis, Hadoop*
• Equities Electronic execution and/or analytics
• Any knowledge of KDB+/Q would be helpful
• *Agile/Scrum* methodology experience is required.
• *Service Oriented Architecture, *and data standards like *JSON, Avro,
Protobuf *
• Strong communication skills, should be able to communicate effectively
with business and other stake holders
• Demonstrate ownership and initiative taking
*Nice to have Skills:*
• Prior experience of working collaboratively with quant/trading desks is
highly desirable
• Experience in SCMs like GIT, and tools like JIRA, uDeploy.
• Responsible for systems analysis, Design, Coding, Unit Testing and other
SDLC activities
*Educational Qualification:*
Bachelor's degree (BE, BS) or above.
